Sabrina – The Brunette Ecoholic
This week’s The Perks of JAVA installment introduces us to Sabrina (known as Brie to friends and family), The Brunette Ecoholic. Brie has a passion for Eco-conscious and balanced living. This passion not only drives her to research the skincare products that she uses for herself and her family but also to share this information so that we can all benefit.
Here are Brie’s answers to our JAVA questionnaire:
How do you take your coffee? I like stevia and almond milk in my coffee
What is your astrological sign? I am an Aquarius – which means I am loyal, curious, and imaginative. It also means I can be unpredictable and a little all over the place (or as my husband likes to say – I have “oooh shiny syndrome“)! lol
A little history of your blog? I started my blog when I was recovering from major back surgery. I wanted to create a space where I could not only share my love & passion for clean, eco-conscious and balanced living but to also share my life-long skin issues and what has (and hasn’t) helped.
What in green beauty are you passionate about right now? For me, it’s all about skin care. I love makeup and am so impressed with all of the options we now have in the green beauty world (and that are just as good, if not better than conventional), but in my opinion, if your skin looks unhealthy or is having major issues, all the makeup in the world won’t make much difference!
What is your favorite JAVA Skin Care product? Do I have to just pick one? The lip product junkie in me loves the lip scrub & lip balm, but I also adore the body serum!
Any tip on how you use it? The body serum I apply right as I get out of the shower while my skin is still damp. I find that oils seem to absorb better & more deeply without a greasy feel when skin is wet.

Kathy McGovern and Beth Melfi restore and re-purpose industrial tools, hardware and architectural salvage into magnificent one-of-a-kind artwork and home/office furnishings.
The launch party was an opportunity to reconnect with old friends and begin new relationships. And, well you know, the JAVA ladies are always up for a good party…
JAVA Lifestyle is all about bringing together beautiful eco-luxury products – JAVA Skincare (of course), artisan jewelry, recycled hand bags , and so much more – to create a unique shopping experience where all of the gorgeous display pieces are also available to take home. Yeah, we thought you’d like that.

Updikes Newtowne Coffee Roasting Company, the home of JAVA Skin Care, has been named the 2015 Best SPECIALTY COFFEE DRINKS of RI by Rhode Island Monthly and we couldn’t be more proud.
Updikes Newtowne Coffee Roasting Company opened in 2007 in the small town of Wickford, Rhode Island. Mark Additon is the owner and head roaster and his specialty consists of roasting and grinding small estate coffee from hand picked coffee grown regions located all over the world This coffee is the reason JAVA Skin Care exists.
This year’s award is doubly exciting because we are also celebrating the one-year anniversary of JAVA Skin Care’s 2014 Best of RI Editor’s Pick for Best of RI Natural Body Products awarded for a Rhode-Island based skin care company.
